Hat in Space

If space today appeals more to helmets, it was not always the case. So the first pilots of the heroic times, wearing leather protections, or the staff on service on the Zeppelins, wearing marine head-dress (The Zeppelin float was affiliated to navy and not to airforce).Closer to our time, but always worn by the winds, the first paper hat which did a complete earth revolution in baloon without any landing. ( Bertrand Piccard and his fellow co-pilot Brian Jones were finding time rather long in the Breitling Orbiter, and to keep busy made out of their flight-maps nice paper-hats ! The one presented in the museum was given by Bertrand Piccard small time after he completed last great human adventure of the 20 th. century ! Also see Bertrand Piccard sur Wikipedia.
